The solution

We created The Telstra IoT Development board to enable rapid enterprise deployment of custom, high-quality IoT applications that require stable low-power cellular connectivity alongside application specific sensing and control integration.

The system utilises a Quectel BG96 module, powered by a Qualcomm chipset. It uniquely integrates a dedicated communications accelerator that handles encryption, LWM2M services, payload transmission, and security.

The development kit was designed to showcase the very latest in communications technology, enabling low-power M2M communications with Telstra’s advanced CAT-M1 and NB-IoT networks.
