The Zoo Feeder project was an amazing opportunity for us to give back to Melbourne Zoo through an electro-mechanical device that gamifies feeding time for carnivores.
The Zoo Feeder project was an amazing opportunity for us to give back to Melbourne Zoo. Working in partnership with them, we created an electro-mechanical device that gamifies feeding time for carnivores such as snow leopards and lions.
The system creates a WiFi network between a master feeding station and sensor nodes. The network then provides audio queues for feeding challenges. When triggered, food is dispensed safely to the animals via a hermetically sealed container.
All systems are controllable from a web server-based tablet application. We're proud to have created one of the most sophisticated animal feeding systems on the planet.
